Overview

The Portuguese NAH will be primarily anchored in the Portugal’s first virtual National Adaptation Hub, built and designed under the FAIR2Adapt Project and hosted on the CE3C (Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes) website at the University of Lisbon. The Hub will be hosted on a non-governmental website platform, providing the flexibility and adaptability required to accommodate organic changes throughout its development process. The CE3C research centre leads national- and international-level research on ecosystem resilience, ecology and conservation, and climate change adaptation, making it a trusted and credible partner to host the Hub in the eyes of adaptation stakeholders.

Existing networks should be leveraged to facilitate stakeholder engagement—through meetings, workshops, and other interactive formats—for the implementation of the Portuguese NAH. A virtual NAH will be implemented, with an online platform and social media presence, that will reach a broad and diverse audience. It will promote bidirectional information exchange between NAH management partners and users/stakeholders, while fostering the development of an online community of practice.

The main objective is to create a virtual NAH, that will enable stakeholders across multiple governance levels to access up-to-date information relevant to adaptation planning in Portugal, while also drawing inspiration from adaptation examples shared.
