Poland
Overview
The National Adaptation Hub (NAH) in Poland is being developed as a national-level coordination and knowledge-sharing platform supporting climate change adaptation across different governance levels. Its main purpose is to bring together public authorities, research institutions, practitioners and other stakeholders involved in adaptation, and to facilitate cooperation, exchange of experience and alignment of actions related to climate resilience. Institutionally, the NAH is being developed within the national climate adaptation context, in close interaction with public institutions responsible for adaptation policy, including the Ministry of Climate and Environment. While the Hub is linked to existing national and regional adaptation efforts, it is not embedded as a fully formalised structure yet. Work is ongoing to define its institutional framework and formal cooperation arrangements. The NAH is newly set up. It does not represent the continuation of a single existing institution but rather builds on previously established adaptation-related initiatives, expertise and stakeholder networks. The first official meeting of the NAH, held on 16 April 2026, marked the practical launch of the Hub and the beginning of structured stakeholder engagement at the national level. At the current stage, the NAH is coordinated by the project team responsible for its establishment and development, which convened the first meeting, presented the proposed concept and leads the ongoing process of stakeholder engagement. Coordination activities include organising meetings, collecting needs and expectations of potential members, and preparing a Cooperation Agreement that will formalise roles and collaboration mechanisms among partners. As the NAH evolves, its governance, institutional anchoring and coordination arrangements are expected to be further clarified and strengthened based on stakeholder input and agreed frameworks.
