Overview 

The Hungarian Adaptation Hub is planned to be a platform for cross-sectoral adaptation cooperation, engaging stakeholders from all governance levels. It is coordinated by the HungaroMet Hungarian Meteorological Service, the national provider of climate services and the background institution of national climate policy in Hungary. The hub will build on the Interministerial Working Group on Climate Change, established for supporting the national adaptation planning and evaluation processes.

The main function of the Hungarian hub is to operate as an MLG platform for cross-sectoral adaptation cooperation, resulting in more coordinated planning and action, as well as accelerated adaptation mainstreaming on all spatial levels. A multi-level stakeholder structure is envisaged by engaging different stakeholders e.g. ministries, background institutions, research institutes, companies, NGOs and civil organisations, regional and local actors.  

It aims at engaging various stakeholders in the adaptation planning and implementation process, contributing to more streamlined implementation and increased climate resilience.
